FLY FISHING ON THE DEERFIELD RIVER IN MASSACHUSETTS
Fly fishing is as much an art as a recreation. It combines time outdoors with an understanding of the habits of fish, the moods of the river and the near-meditative technique of casting a fly rod. We offer Guided Float Fishing, Fly Casting Clinics and Casting and Fishing Clinics with friendly professional guides who are highly experienced on the Deerfield and surrounding rivers.

Please note that all guided fly fishing at Zoar Outdoor is “Catch and Release”. The simple truth of Lee Wulff’s statement over sixty years ago is ever more eloquent today: “The fish you release is your gift to another angler and, remember, it may have been someone’s similar gift to you.”
If circumstances and/or your preference warrant, wade fishing with one or two clients per guide can be arranged.
Fly fishing makes a great package with any Zoar Outdoor lodging or camping options or with other activities to make a weekend to a week-long getaway. The fishing season lasts from April 15 to November 30, with the early and late season often providing the best conditions.
