Wilderness First Responder certification and recertification classes for outdoor professionals and enthusiasts. This course is taught in conjunction with Wilderness Medical Associates of Maine.
Sponsored by The Outfitters Shop at Zoar Outdoor, this event is an opportunity to try out boats and gear on the river. The weekend is full of mini-classes and gear demos on the Deerfield River for beginner to advanced paddlers. Contact greg@zoaroutdoor.com for information and registration.
- Saturday evenings in the campground
Saturday evenings this season we'll be offering a campfire, popcorn, music, movies and workshops. 6:30 – 8 pm open to the public. Contact philip@zoaroutdoor.com for more information.

Deerfield RiverFest – July 26 – 27
This annual festival takes place in the town fairgrounds just east of Zoar Outdoor. Lots of paddling vendors, music, raffles, and demonstrations to raise money for the non-profit river conservation organization American Whitewater. The festival takes place Saturday from 4 pm to 12 midnight followed by a downriver race and a rodeo on Sunday. For information contact Ben Van Camp at ben@amwhitewater.org
Sponsored by Zoar Outdoor in conjunction with USA Canoe & Kayak, this race determines the national champion in wildwater. This is a great event to watch as the fastest paddlers in the country bomb down several miles of hard whitewater against the clock. Race times are Saturday and Sunday from 11 am – 2 pm.
Each year we sponsor presentations about a wide variety of outdoor-related topics. Check back for details.
